Our main event is the biennial IPSA World Congress, where we sponsor and co-sponsor panels and roundtables on all aspects of federalism and multilevel governance.
RC28 members are eligible to apply for a travel grant.
In addition to the World Congress, we sponsor and co-sponsor conferences, workshops, and other events that are relevant to the study of federalism and multilevel governance.
In 2017 we co-sponsored three main events:
A joint conference with fellow IPSA research committees Politics and Ethnicity (RC14) and Democratization (RC13) on Democratization and Constitutional Design in Divided Societies, held at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia from 24-27 June.
A roundtable at the 113th APSA Annual Meeting, co-sponsored with APSA’s Federalism and Intergovernmental Relations organised section, on Elections, Decentralization, Intergovernmental Relations and More: What American Scholars Can Learn from Comparative Federalism Scholarship. The roundtable featured Carol Weissert, Florida State University, USA; Maria Escobar-Lemmon, Texas A&M University, USA; Thomas Lancaster, Emory University, USA; Joy Langston, CIDE, Mexico; Louise Chappell, University of New South Wales, Australia; and Alan Fenna, Curtin University, Australia.
A panel at the 11th ECPR General Conference, co-sponsored with the ECPR’s Federalism and Regionalism standing group, on Comparing Intergovernmental Relations. Please see panel details on the conference website.
